Mind Lost, Not Found

Hm so I was in the middle of a post not long ago and accidently clicked out of this window. I don't really feel like repeating myself either. Plus my mom just went out, asking me to turn off the dryer when the timer went off, but the timer isn't on (doo doo doo doo) And I've had a headache ever since sitting in the first row of last night's 3D adventure, next to some wheezy old guy that reeked of cigarettes and his wife, chatty Kathy.

On the bright side I have no obligations until New Years, which is on Thursday, so I think I will read for as many hours straight as possible, and maybe write in this blog.

That;s a cute picture there, (the last one) it reminds me of this facebook group that i saw this australia girl joined a while back called (not to exact words) something about being sad when you see a old person eating alone. Which is cute.

I've been in a pissed off mood today, last night i went to bed late, not the happiest or best feeling around, thenwas woken up suddenly to be taken out to do a whole six hour day of shopping. i've been feeling like puking all day, i went to bed feeling like i should puke.

I feel alright now though, the butterscotch in my mouth, slurping around is doing the trick. and the fire across the room is roaring high.

How romantic! but not really! because the persian man won;t talk to me!

Hey yous. All I can say about gingerbread is don't use a Martha Stewart recipe if you plan on eating it... hardest shit ever.

So that girl who wanted to go to the art gallery? The class ended and I still don't know her name. Gah. Its alright though, I think I will just loiter around in public places in order to meet people. Plus a new semester is about to begin so that's four classes full of new faces (:D)

So right now I am sitting in the library because the internet in my building mysteriously conked out on the last day of classe, so this is my only way of listening to the Bucky Awards. Down side? I feel guilty that I am not studying like everyone else. And also I can't full out dance to some of these songs, for example, Magique by We Are Wolves just came on and I had to resist the urge to start wildly thrashing around. Anyways should get back to my frech stuff, considering my exam is tomorrow night, a 7. Weird eh?

haha eh

Cabin Addiction is definatly back.

Maybe you should DEFINATLY ask the girl who you don't know the name of for some art gallery fun (or even better, a boy? Nawwwwwwww, let us (lettus) not get alot ahead of our selves, plus you'll need a constant female figure (Zoola doesnt' seem to exist in that manner to yo) in your life while i'm gone for six months), Think of the long run!

In existing news, I'm making a Gingerbread house today, plus i got a paycheck (yes! an actual check, not cash, meaning i'm on the books, and i'm better then the other girl who joined the team at the exact same time as me, but i'm the one they chose to put on the books). Also, i'm picking up my little brother from school today, to take out for food, and then to go watch the town light up (5pm) and to watch a christmas parade (6pm). How exciting is that.

Also, whats also really exciting in my life, is that i get to travel to vancouver to see a christmas parade (yes! another one!) my two best and favorite friends (yes! mortimer and zoola) and a boy i like (just plain yes!).

But on a slight change of mood, i'm going to complain about how weirdly hard it is to find a god gingerbread recipe online, like something that looks convincing and constant, everything just looks plainly iffy.

I learnt how to play a bit of "Carol of the bells" on Marimba.

Daily goals which wont get done:
1- Make soap
2- Sew toghther a stuffed elephant (i dont even know why... i was just thinking of how cool it would be to do smething like that)
3- Find christmas lights (because my mom didnt ...)

How many times did i use the word yes!? 4

ONEMONTHUNTILCHRISTMAS

on being friendy

So I have (finally) figured out that I am bad at making friends because I am intimidating when I first meet people (really?) Zoola was kind enough to enlighten me. I guess I'm just bad at pretending to be someone I'm not. Like bubbly. Or feminin. Or even talkative.
goals for the week
1. make at least one new friend
2. finish all the readings I've been putting aside
3. buy stamps
exams are probably the worst time of the year to try and make friends. I think I will ask that girl if she wants to explore art galleries sometime in exam weeks, maybe then I'll remember her name/ she'll be forced to tell me again, somehow.
Can you tell I'm depressed?

Monday, November 16, 2009

Hey, thought it was about time I write something on here since the last post was over a month ago. Also I just finished a five page paper so I'm all jittery on access stress. Phewf.
It is raining like a mofo outside, about time too. It's been earily dry. All the Calgary kids are probably in a feotal position in there beds. No chapped lips here though.
I've been reading this field study about the Maisin people of Papua New Guinea and learning all this crazy semi- interesting thngs... for example: Papua New Guinea is about the size of half of BC and there are 700 different languages. One per people I guess.
The girl down the hall is doing scales (is that what its called?) with her voice. hee hee hee HEE hee hee hee. Kind of hilarious and annoying at the same time. How did I end up the floor with all the talented people?!
What I am listening too: web radio of CBC radio 3, you should all go vote for the Bucky Awards... excellent stuff. (that means you Shark. Du it)

Today i guess was the calm that comes after a storm. You know something has happened, but things are cl earning up slowly, and it smells good (thanks Dad for making pancakes :) )

On a lighter note, i have a new celebrity crush
Mortimer you already know her name, drum roll please?
Nicki Minaj *I'll try to find the less sexual of pictures to show you, because i swear, she is a sex bomb.

And sex bombs are always welcomed on my porch, so let it be.

What else to say...
My feet are cold. Mortimer i don't get your letters until Tuesday if anything (my mo had to change locks on the mail box). I made some pretty tight short bread today, and then some pumpkin spice tea to enjoy them with. I then forced my mother and my lovely sister to sit down and enjoy them with me, while they watched a movie " Man in the moon" (remember sabos grade 5 birthday party???)

I'm also thinking of making some tortili later, we have some spinach and zuchini just lying around anyways.

hiya everybody!

Hey, it's me again, I just polished off a bag of Sunshine Coast Trail Mix, which for the record is worth its cost. I had a big insightful spiel planned out, but unfortunately all that is left in my brain (and teeth) revolves around pumpkin seeds and chocolate chips. I know, right?
Um I had a yoga class tonight so now I feel all worldly and flexible, but really I have almost zero balance compared to most people. I like to blame it on the childhood scoleosis.
What else is there to say except that I am currently writting a blog instead of studying italian, which I have a midterm for on friday....ARGH
(mi chiamo Emma, il mio numero di telefono e [none of your business] io sono alta e pigra)
off to a decent start I guess- one of the hardest things to get used to is that they don't capitilize "I" plus they don't just blindly add ess's to the end of plural nouns.
I went to this poster sale in the SUB the other day and got this amazing Klimt poster. Have you exer seen the Tree of Life? What I don't get is why he always has to add the embracing lovers into his paintings (ok not Always but) at least in this case there's a jealous Cleopatra-y looking gal at the opposite end.
I guess I should go, you're prolly all bored of this pointless ramble.
gooooooodbye

Miss Your Sharkiness

So I don't think this can possibly be just a Shark blog... because I've been thinking about this a lot and have been meaning to add something. That paper house book that you brought up is super good, except the end is a little depressing. You know what else is depressing?? Not having a library card for anything local. And I keep seeing really good-looking books at stores that I've been itching to buy.
Don't even get me started on the stupid fucking university library (excuse the french- everyone here swears buckets and its beginning to rub off) the sections there aren't in any kind of order. They alphebetized the sections but the sections have nothing to do with whats in them. For example, although music is in the M section... art history is in the NZ section on a completely different floor.
The gods are mocking me.
the community I live in is so small that everyone rubs onto everyone else. You kind of forget theres an outside world until you read your own blog and realize its not yours anymore.
I'm hungry.

Just sitting here in new sweatpants and still wet hair.

Considering i had a shower, at noon, i think that is a accomplishment.

Thursday, September 17, 2009

Guess i should explain things

SEe that cake on the bottom post? Yes you do, well, when i saw that picture, i imediatly fell in love with it.

Seriously, i did. And in a weird way, it is sort of a girly cake, but i don't care, i'm still making it for my dads and brothers birthday on the second of november. It just amazing.

So... How am i today? Still in my pajamas, getting levi ready for school, because he somehow convinced my mother that he was sick and my mom compremised that he would walk up to school at noon.

Fair enough, whatever.

He's complaning that he has nothing to wrap his sandwhich up with and that some ate all the apples.

As for me... I'm just bleh right now. Kindof happy i learnt this new part in marimba practice, well the whole part with jocelyn, and the first sounds really cool.

I'm thinking, eventually, maybe i'd want to take marimba lessons and make this serious and learn to read music and the whole nine yards. but until then.. i guess i'll just make gulab jamun...
Indian sweets basically. See picture? Don't they look amazing? Oh yes they do.
and finish painting the sign and helping my mom pack up so we can move eventually.

Happiness

A True Feeling i;ve been lacking lately.
Though it might just be that i'm just confused about where i am standing and what i should be doing, while being sick as the heavens will allow me (had to miss band pactice yesterday...arghh).

I keep thinking i need to do something productive, but i have no clue what that is..

Oh well.
Listen to this..

Listen to the "Mrs. Morris", i found it while going through the logs on r3 30 like 15 minutes ago.

Seeing Mortimer and Zoola are in the university bound zones, i don't see them contributing anytime soon to this blog of sorts. (Zoola no doubt has forgotten about it..) So for the time being i guess this will be a Shark blog.

I guess ill just put music, random thoughts, books i'm reading and the general things happening in my life for the people who actualy read this to know.

Book of the day? "The Girl with the full figure is your daughter" By Oscar martens

If you live in the oceanside area, you can get this book at your local public library!
Its a book of short stories and some of shorts stories are rediculously sexual at points. Nothin wrong with that. It was just funny, and the author is from the lower mainland, so... you are hearing about funny places that you can connect with (which is nice i guess?)

I'm actually trying to blow through it right now, seeing i'm pretty sure it's overdue and theres this other book i want to get to too... " The Paper House-a novel" by Carlos Maria Dominguez. The book is about the size of my hand (and no i do not have man hands-) and it looks like a cute and good read.

There was also this book by Jasper Ffordes in the discount bin at the mulberry book store in qualicum that i was wanted to get, but since funds are running low right now... i thought over it ten times and descided against it. Plus it was like 20 dollars. 20 dollars is a horrible discount price.

I don't know, i guess i'll be reading alot and trying to fill up my time with productive things to do. Painting maybe. Once i get my room cleaned though... Because i aquired a piece of wood- 5 by 3 feet big to paint on, except i need the space and the type of space where i can leave it there for weeks at time and forget about it type of thing without a mother bitching at me to move it along and clean up the paint water or "stop using plates for your painting!!1"

Oh and i also need to find a recipe for stuffed grapeleaves.
But only just because my mother got a jar of pickled grape leaves as a joke the other day and now it's my mission to figure out how to use them.

Wish me luck?
Luck.

Plus it's a first on hypem.com that i;ve seen a song get more then 2.5k likes...
Good jjob kid cudi /pursuit of happiness!

Tommorow is the day Mortimer and Zoola leave for an exciting humanitarian trip. Fix the world the best they could, too bad they had to pay to fix the world, but being 18 year old canadians with only so much, its the best they could do. Have fun ladies and meet some nice men :D

Sure there is the exception, minitures like that 10 year old from victoria and his mom, going down to Uganda every year building schools and whatnot to a bit more famous, now adult, but started out (like most) young, Craig Keilburger or however you spell his name, a canadian who wanted to make a change and then did so. Did you know i shook his hand last year? Man, that was cool.

Me on the other hand, i am left behind, but not really, to find something to do.

Today i cooked and painted and listen to loud french rap, tommorw i work and see a lovely classic down at the beach with a couple important (men) in my life. I'm kindof pissed i have a lack of women in my life, but maybe, thats alright, and it's the way it's suppose to be.

Maybe i'll figure out someting exciting and important to do. Trust me, everything will be alright.

You know, if you put a kiwi in with your breakfast and then say "Hey! Don't eat my cerial, i've got to go pee!" to your younger brothers, the milk in your cerial will curdle. Why? Chances are it has to do with the high acid content in the kiwi.

Lost doctors papers and freaking out about life (AHH THEY WONT ACCEPT ME@@@ I DONT WANT TO LIVE IN POVERTY!!!!! MOM HELP ME FIND MY PAPERS!!)... That has been my life for the past 15 hours. I now think back and say wow.
On a lighter note... i think this post should be something more, so as always, i just went to http://www.ffffound.com/ to see if i could find anything...something to spruce this thing up. And this is what i found...
This art here reminded me of when Anita, pulled me aside to show me a dozen or so piece of art of what she found when she was in montreal at the art gallery, and she thought i would like to see them (which i thought was so sweet and "aww, really" type of thing. * tips to future husbands... this would be a good move on your part. Anyways. So this piece right here, reminded me of another... A piece by Paul Rebeyrolle
Photobucket
Looks nice right? I don't know.. i just had a connecting moment right there and thought i should share it on this blog no one really writes on anymore.
I really like this song:

Today, while working at the local library, in the midsts of putting some paper back mysteries away, i heard a man call for this partner-

"Come on Lust!" and she looked depressed, put down the lawn care books(635/6's?) and followed him, like a sponge that was squeezed out of all its water. She was the sponge *life was water

Now, i feel sorry, but its starting to loook that there are more then a couple ways of having a relationship on this planet.

Did you know Sourdough has more protein for it's size and weight then any other comparable food?

Apparently a wild yeast forms in the fermentation process of the starter. At that stage, a starch food is turned into a protein dynamo food.

i'm sitting here dumb founded, because i don't know where my password or username is for this assignment. I'm pretty sure it's lost among my DeMarco history text someplace in my house. Or it might be in my locker right now as i write these precious words.

But segway! Preciouswords** Guess who got a hilarious award today from the Social Studies Departement, that's right. It's me. "For Continues Prose and Cool Graphics", i also got a sweet tshirt...

What else? It's super hot right now , i joined a marimba band, got in a fight with mr. robson and will be heading to the beach later with mortimer.

bike riding adventures

I woke up at 5 this morning, probally won't happen tommorow morning. Maybe it will if i have a purpose. But oh well. This morning turned out really well actually, i woke up, the sun out already (which surprised me because it was 5, and i'm still on a inner clock where i walk to choir at 7 am and it's pitch black, but hey, things change.)

So the sun was out, and i descided to bake off the cookies, Lime and Pumpkin seed cookies (which was stolen from mortimers (mom's?) rebar cookbook. A resturant that i definatly need to hit up one of these days.
The cookies turned out wonderul and i got dressed and pack up my bags for my biking adventure.

Reminders of Websites because i don't have a computer or phone right now.

http://www.filterforgood.ca/index.php

this reminds me of a thing this lady was trying to convince me ages ago at the knox fall fair, i took a booklet about it and brought it up in MAD but obviously there was bigger fish to fry. But now, since the year is slowing down, I think I might bring it up at the meeting tommrow. If i can remember.

I currently have more bruises by different people than ever before- the sun even left its own kind of mark dusted across my cheeks and the backs of my legs.
My dad is yelling insults at the TV as the Flames go down (in flames...) under the massive foot of Chicago. Americans aren't supposed to play hockey. What is the world coming to?
I have officially decided to go into art history in the hopes that I will spend the rest of my life looking at pictures like the one above. Sweet victory in my mind.

Overacheivers Please Try Less

So yesterday in math class we were discussing next year (at the back of the class) to the tune of Mr.Sufrin's muffled explanations. And someone mentioned that they believed that only really smart kids get into UBC: to quote, "You have to be up there"

And then that night I submitted my interim marks and was accepted

heheheehhe.

IT MAKES A MAN OUT OF ME! IT MAKES A MAN OUT OF ME! IT MAKES A MAN OUT OF ME!

I have this crrrrazzy song stuck in my head... I knew I should never have listened to it on the bus. And then these German guys behind me had this wild conversation in which one of them said "kick" like twelve times. I should really learn German.

The clouds last night looked like waves on the ocean, with dramatic shadows and the sun bursting through at opportune moments. Definetely dazzled me. We were on our way to my mum's art show. She does these portraits with two other ladies, the three of them paint the same thing from different perspectives. They did one of a bunch of our friends, its kind of weird to see what people you know look like from the point of view of other people you know? You know?

In art class we are making a life sized octopus, I am in charge of the tentacles. I think that they will have lights in them. Good idea or what? I just got permission to do the eyes too!!

So happy earth day all, and Happy Birthday Dad... A little bit ironic that you're that in to gardening.

Food Reviews

As i was browsing through McSweeney's, i came across this hilarious section of food reviews, here's one that caught my chuckle:

Sugarless Tropical TwistTrident Chewing Gum
Submitted by Sam de Silva
While browsing through old journal entries, I came across this snippet from Monday, September 26, 2005:
The expectations of my family are more suffocating than I thought they would be. On a brighter note, Tropical Twist Trident gum now comes in an "E-Z close" pack ... It's the little things.
Seriously. This stuff is superb.

Alright Miss. Mortimer, i guess i had to do this post, just because before this moment in time (actually, that's a lie, because i found this out this morning when reading cbc like usual) Who the hell James Dean was finally.
Actully, i knew of him. I knew he was popular. It's just that i didn't know why. Seems to be he was a popular actor, made three movies and then died young.
The girl beside him is the italian girlfriend pier. She died later of a overdose of something that started with a B in the sixties.

TWO QUESTIONS

I have two questions that have been bothering me for years (or at least days) :

1.How many strings does a Sitar have?

2. Who the crap is Rick James?

So for answers I ventures to the magical land of Wikipedia:

A sitar has anywhere between 21 and 23 strings

Rick James was a popular motown artist of the late seventies (of Super Freak fame)

So there we go. Mission Accomplished

true story.

Tonight at work was pretty fun, i got there a couple minutes early and just sat in this spinning chair in front of the work computer in the back room. the lights a dimish of steriotycal work place lights and the air was plain (nothing special). The two main ladies of the work place comes up to me and start talking to me about my up and comming trip to the other side of the country, i just go along, awnsering their simple questions, and add a pun there and here. Makes them smile.

The clock hits six oh clock, and i sign into the computer, "clocking in" and logging off. I get up and head to the childrens area, where i see a fellow co-worker, a teenage girl, two years younger then myself, organizing this massive book cart of multi color cds, dvds, and books of all sizes. She looks up and i say to her " your off :D" , she smiles, and starts randomly talking about this other boy who was working the same-ish shift of her.

Now this boy was a mystery to us, we didn't know his age and he usually kept to himself. Which made things akward, and we just usually joked around with him. But today, it was differant, i was like, "we should talk to him" and my co-worker laughs and agrees.

We actually descide to figure out his age first, and i follow her to the back room, and was going to go talk, she was talking and laughing how funny it would be if he was back there still, when we are going to ask this, and by gosh darnit, he was. I take one step into the room, and then one step out, scared that i saw him. But not really scared, but more shocked.

I whisper for my supervisor to come over, and ask her his age, she laughs and says "18" and walks off. I whisper back to co-worker from across a hall, and she laughs.

.... i don't feel like writting anymore. Maybe ill tell you the rest of the story when im bored another day.
