Woah, looks like Shark has been writting her fingers off. But that's okay, someone has to do all the work around here.
I feel like a house-wife, have been sewing and bread -baking up a storm, not to mention my cooking job. sheesh. Right now my knees hurt from standing up all day (screw you childhood scoliosis!!) and my middle finger hurts from being burnt. bleh

a recipe for success
  1. 1 cup of whipping cream
  2. 1 shot glass of sugar
  3. 2 teaspoons of vanilla vodka
  4. a hand full of chocolate shavings.
  • whip as usual the whipping cream, sugar, and vodka.
  • add chocolate shavings near end
  • serve on top of hot chocolate, coffee, milk, or eat by ones self

A note concerning vanilla vodka, a couple days ago my mother decided to put about an entire bottle of vanilla into a bottle of cheap vodka. This recipe is invented by Levi.

Kids should also listen to the MAP play list, that was released DEC 15Th i believe, but i just started listening to well, yesterday. The play list includes about 20 something songs, each from a differant country. So Far my absolute favorites include BEARCAT (NZ) and THE BLACK SKIRTS (Korea).

Here's the link.

Tuesday, December 23, 2008

I'm happy to say, that yes, I finally have gotten the hang of the knit stich of all things. It took me about three days, but finally, watching my mother doing it multiple times, i took to it. kindof.

Other things include me having this weird infection where i can't move my jaw and my ear hurts and im on tylenol- 3's and 2's (depending whats closest) and some nice antibiotics.

Mortimer, you and i should meet up and do things.

Like perhaps that alladin play in qualicum??

and I can give you that gift??? and maybe we can drag our trusty german buddy along with us??>?? wouldnt that be a plan??? i dont know??? call me ???

um.. i went to nanaimo today and watched twilight for the second time

met friends for breakfast, took the wrong debit card from the house, ran back too the house. I feel like being a cat. All crawled up in a corner, doing nothing.

i did that yesterday, did nothing, and half sleeping and half awake, listening to the cooking channel, then realising that after about 5 shows, they all started to repeat, so i got up and starting making the children of the house their lunch.

anyone looking for a kitten, they are still up for grabs!! except i'm pretty sure in the new year we are giving them toa pet store, that sells them for preceeds to spay and neuter various animals. (something that we did not do..)

um other then that.

Enjoy the holiday season

joyeux noel.

and lots of love from all around

knitting isnt as easy as it looks when learning yourself.

I just thought i would catch you all up on my knitting progress. Which is zip. I had a goal this holiday break to learn to knit, something i thought, would bring great warmth to my heart and at least give me something to do. It's not working. My mom brought me a book from SOS (this second hand shop) and the book is stupid, and confusing, and then i said to myself, "my i should check the internet!" And thats even worst, actually, i wasnt really paying attention, but i found this alright clip on www.gurl.com that looks like it should be promising. (and this website can be trusted because i have countless read countless comics and played countless quizzs since i was like 14 there... so.. yippu)

Other then that, other news include me getting a job at the local library, as a page. Calling my friend in new zealand which made me happy, and then seeeing my mom realize that "hey! its christmas! maybe we should decorate and put up the tree" thank the lord that finally hit her head. And on tommrow agenda, i have to go grab some papers, go christmas shopping and grocery shopping for:

  1. butter
  2. filo pastry
  3. spinach x 3
  4. ricotta
  5. smoke cheddar
  6. cream cheese
  7. lemon grass
  8. ginger
  9. whuntONNE rappers
  10. chickpeas
  11. green scallions

super huh?

oh va fait un show.

i just came back from a show in qualicum. the Victoria symphony, tres spécial.
the director was vaiirrr entertaining to watch
all white skinned and white haired and wearing a nice tux with with penguin thing going on, and in his mid 60s at least.

but my toes are still cold.
ive been outside nearly all day,
i went to this local secondhand store, and i got

  1. four records

  2. a pair of socks

  3. a cook book on Spaniard ways

  4. and a pair of knitting needles ( my goal this holiday break is to knit soemthing or at least learn how to knit in general, and then make my very good friend a DARK GREEN scarf.)
i had a job interview today!
no school too.
actually
me and a friend went to A block and watched this really cool french movie called Kamakasi, where its like the 7 samurais of Paris, jumping over buildings and stealing things to save this little kid from a bitch ass hospital, with the bitchiest of bitch doctors, that one did want to smack.
the movie ended nicely, with the young boy getting a new heart
all is well.

i discoverd something nice today, while getting some christmas music for my mother.

the vienna boys choir
i must say, splendid toons did i hear from the young boys mouths.
great accapella.

2 thumbs up !
(way up)

You have no idea how many times I have mispelled the password to this account. Shark will realize how pathetic this is...
and snow! would you look at that!
okay so hypem has told me to make a top ten list of 2008 albums, it looks like I'm a little Canada biased:
1 Wolf Parade- At Mount Zoomer
2 The Acorn- Glory Hope Mountain
3Broken Social Scene Presents: Brendan Canning- Something For All of Us
4 Plants and Animals- Park Avenue
5 Land Of Talk- Some Are Lakes
6 Wintersleep- Welcome to the Night Sky
7 Tokyo P0lice Club- Elephant Shell
8 Jason Collett- Here's to Being Here
9 Hayden- In Field and Town
10 Hey Rosetta! -Into Your Lungs

yep

Saturday, December 13, 2008

And then there wasnt a lack of snow.

so a bunch of us skipped "A" block, because why would we stay in the libary when the snow was falling so nicely on the ground? no one would (take the lack fo students in biology). Not even the teachers, but they did, because they get payed to stay in the rooms they are teaching. So, thats their excuse.
I remember back in grade 8, the mountain just opened and nearly everyone in my class went to the mountain the day. The teacher wasnt even there, now we don't know for sure, but everyone is convinced he was also at the mountain. Because he was this IRON MAN! i bike ride! and do crazy hikes and am extreme.
whats with french immersion young male teachers?

other then that, i should get to making irish potato candies for a friend of mine.
Its actually made with potatos but you can't really taste it. it's just there for the starch effect, like flour. but better i guess
and theses are the yummiest things in the world you role them in chocolate and coconut and wow. super nice, super shinnnnny.

bye.

Friday, December 12, 2008

done. and then there was a lack of snow.

but not really, because then another teacher was like (SHARK) when are you going to finish first term?!?!
ANd im like soooooooooooooooon, i just have to do a effing french oral exam in ten minutes, can you just back off, and hey! look IT'S NOT SNOWING~
other then that, in smaller news, im helping out a friend who is doing his speech later on, on some disease that turns you into a raisin. Not my words, his.
hmmm, i should fix up that resume soon too.
bah i just want to go home
but can't because i have bio after lunch
but then i can go home.

Why is the economy so confusing??? (how do you say that in french?!)

What A Tree

New Thought: Is the global recession actually helping the environment?? (and how do you say that in french?)

According to some website, Air China has lost 120.81 million dollars in the last couple of years, so that now they cannot afford to but the planes that they had planned on buying!!

Apparently the entire industry has lost 4.3 billion yuans (now to figure out the canadian equivalent...) in the past 10 months.

Why do I know this? Because tomorrow I have to talk about it for ten minutes in french!

You bet it sounds like fun! ($765,334,391.01)

but I'm supposed to be researching Siddhartha...

a tree i liked while searching about some indian king?

i think i am going to paint this one day just because, it looks nice.

or just take inspiration from this, because the bark is crazy nice.

just look at it.

Saturday, December 6, 2008

Why can't i have a bakery!
" not now, in 50 years!"

You kidding!
i want to make bread in the early mornings
while listening to good loud music
and then make money from that
and then travel

to perhaps learn more recipes to make even more bread!
bread bread bread bread bread bread bread bread bread

And so what if a care a bit too much about something that isnt maybe real?
and how do i know if it isnt real?
What if it is!
its like, i have a trillion doubts
but there are moments i push them all to the side
and be all like " hey, this is real, and its working out"

I just don't know!

Where's the Clarinet??

I think there may be a vital instrument missing from your so-called clarinet polka Shark

I've been reading the Tao Te Ching (or "the Way" as roughly translated) which is basically one of many ancient chinese philosophies. I was thinking: what if modern politicians used these guidelined in their lives? For example:

66

All streams flow to the sea

because it is lower than they are

Humility gives it its power.

If you want to govern the people,

you must place yourself below them.

If you want to lead the people, you must learn to follow them.

The Master is above the people,

and no one feels oppressed.

Ahe goes ahead of the people,

and no one feels manipulated.

The whole world is grateful to her.

Because she competes with no one,

no one can compete with her.

How about trying that out Stefan Dion?? And call me a feminist, but I like how the master is female.

off topic, but you guys should all go to this website and hit "rejouer" soo funny

french humor is the greatest.

Si Belle

Saw a really good movie last night. It was called "Caramel" and about these Lebanese women who run a beauty salon in Beirut. I guess basically about the rights of women over there. It was kind of eye opening, after all those stories you here about over there, about women who are not allowed to show there faces, not allowed to leave the house without a man. Although there obviously are differences between "here" and "there" the feeling is the same. More traditional parents confused by the liberal attitudes of their teenage daughters. I guess it's the same everywhere.
Kind of weird watching that after the hollywood-ized Twilight (by the way, it wasn't thhhaaat bad, I didn't like the books that much but found myself getting into the movie)
But yeah... you guys should look up the band Terribly Empty Pockets on Myspace! Good stuff made by family members, always a plus.

1-2-3-4-5

So here I am writing this, faced my the busiest friday of my life. A lot has happened since I last wrote, very little of which you will probably find interesting. Except I saw Bashu today! And I think I might end up going to VIU for a couple of years... But I still have no clue what to do with my life. Any suggestions?

It's been kind of weird, people keep making suggestions for guys I should date. As if I'm super desperate for a boy friend/ really need one? Do I really come across as someone in dire need of romantic support? I like being alone way to much to imagine myself spending that much time with any lone person.

Anyways: here is a good song "Mykonos" by Fleet Foxes. Love the harmonies, but too bad I'm too technologically chalanged to figure out how to A. get the song in the first place and B. post it on this blog

Whatever
(notice the name in the picture?)

A bit sleepy, but surviving

Good Morning! How are you all this lovely morning? i do hope super well.

This morning, i took my sweet time getting everything done, so sweet this time was, that nothing got done until around 8 o clock and i usually leave my humble abode around 8.10. This morning, i left at 8.15, with higher stress levels and a lack of biology notes and french note books. But whoooo careesss.

I am now sitting here, beside a friend of mine, helping with her with a PowerPoint presentation, and i want to say, this young lady, as much as i love her with all my heart, she is the retard concerning all things computers.
oh well,
its not the end of the world/I'm just sleepy right now/and wanting my muffin and tea :) /but being in the ballenas computer lab, you arnt allowed anyyyyyyy food whoopidoooooo i eat by the computer doing homework basically every time i do homework.
at home that is.
So! my resolution is, (and this is also concerning Mortimer's suggestion toward winter parties) when i get super rich, super fast, and this will be super great. Ill buy a winter cabin up on the mountains and invite you all to it and just waste a weekend (EATING!) and having WARM BODIES surround you. man i want to eat :@

We could all make pasta, like tortellini (but actually get the boys into it this time) and spaghetti and and and and bread! and carbs galoooor, and if someone else specializes in a different type of food making, by all means, bring your A GAME.

anywho cheerio, and have a good Monday day!

Friday, November 21, 2008

Sooooo sorry Shark. Definetly forgot to tell anyone. In fact you're the only one who knows... Kinda weird actually.

But here is a nice picture.

and the Postal Service is a nice- sounding band.
It's Rene Margritte's birthday today everybody! I'm impressed

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Ah hah! The goodlife!

Way to be mortimer, not telling me about that extravegant voyage in the month of my birth.
Like yourself, i am sitting the in computer libary (during c block though) (and the lab isn't filled with gamers, but with two girls working on re-writting the Wizard of Oz, and watching scenes from the age old film on you tube. woo)

But in other news, did you know that i am going to new york!!
yes!!!

other then that i should really get back to my comparative civilisations project, which is due tommrow D block, by the way, what is the rotation tommrow?

but i really do like the song
human highway- the sound.

Slooow

So here I am sitting in the school library, surrounded by shameless nerds tap-tapping at their Halo games and calling each other morons. I am filling in for Shark because apparently the internet/cable at her house isn't working.

("Game on, you loser")

I'm actually supposed to be making a power point for comparitive civilization regarding ancient moslem art but...

But guess what! I'm going to see Broken Social Scene in feb, playing with Tegan and Sara

Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Which also means that I now owe by brother $150+ for the tickets and for some reason he has been paying my cell phone bill for the last couple of months.

Thanks a lot.

Monday, November 17, 2008

So here I am in post-party shock... Let's just say I'm a little suprised at a few people and leave it at that. The cupcakes were good though.
Man this dark foggy bit of weather is getting me down. Anyone else feel like curling into a ball with a jar of nutella?? So this is why there are more parties in the winter! Warm bodies anyone?

" my mans an ocean and i'm a whale"

Last night, i was given the notable great honor of a new band.
My very good friend of mine, i guess to put it that way, Rowan was like " Oh my, listen to THE GRATES, 19 20 20" and im like oh yeah?? and yes, this song was unspeakably awesome.
so yes, listen to 19 20 20.

The band is aussi and the lead singer has a very nice voice that's is good to hear , its not a mans attempted voice giving the world for indie fluff.

But yes, another thing is a video of theirs that caught my eye

The Grates - Burn Bridges

mortimer. watch this video for gods sake and go to the myspace site to listen to 19 20 20, just because rowan was right and it is crazy catchy.

sorry for not calling!

It's Tuesday and the whole bunch of us are not at the local learning establishment. For here it is the remembrance of those who served and those who died while serving.

I Woke up late and then starting reading my emails, because i came home last night from a fun in fun day and just couldn't handle anything, so i hit the hay. but the point was, i was suppose to call a Brazilian and make plans to go and see the parade today and show her some really good Canadian experiences, know what i mean? Now i feel guilty that i didn't call her and argh, ill say sorry tomorrow i guess bright and early.

But as for now,all i want to do is find the energy to make either pita bread or tortilini and enjoy the good life listening to loud music.
But the kitchen is a mess from my mothers meal last night of excellent steak and no one cleaned it up (thanks).

I wanted to write down a song for today, but truthfully i couldn't find anything, except for Shane Mullin or something, but its only this one song that semily impressed me ( his cover of Wake me up before you go, whams.) but the rest of his songs are 90's country radio songs " Nashville w/ a tan"

anyway, enjoy your remembrance day :)

Actually, whoopidoo, you guys should check out

This is a picture from my back yard that I quite like

BLOOOOGG

The home page of this website says:"Create a Blog, its Free" as if just because its free its everyone's cup of tea. United forever by free stuff.
I was pretty much shamed into writing this blog, because the last thing I wrote was really useless (as if this is any better) I seriously don't know what to write, especially now we have a follower. hi Jesse!
Anyone else hate the new itunes? It definetly slows down the computer. No, it has nothing to do with the fact that its eight years old.
So right now I am making a CD for Jocelyn, who has got to have the reandomest taste on music ever. We'll be sitting in her room, listening to music, and she will seriously go from a rad swedish techno song to some Appalachian Picking Society, and then to Coldplay or something generic. I love it.
Also: does any one know where I can get the song Monster by You Say Party! We say Die! ??
I have it stuck in my head indefinetly

so there it is: a blog

Some Reminders.

Tonight was a total waste of a night. I was suppose to finish clearing out this cupboard and clean some clothes so I'd have something to wear tomorrow night at the show. But none of that actually happened. The only thing that i did that was successful, was the phoning of a friend to change the plans of tommmrows dinner. (instead of Greek, we are just paying 20$ for food, drink and show- so Mortimer, you are saved until we do that dinner)
I wrote some songs on a piece of paper not long ago, and if i ever do lose this piece of paper, i hope not lose the songs.

A Farewell

You better hope no one reads this Shark my friend, because they would have no clue what you were talking about :)
So off to Calgary tomorrow!! Its kind of a weird time to go, right now I feel like I'm letting down so many people just my not being here all weekend. But on the bright side, I'll be able to read Le Cahier Rouge enroute.... Does anyone know if the main character is a woman or a man dressed up as a woman?? It kind of be helpful to know when writing the report.

So Shark! We can receive e-mails through this new addresse! Ijust realized that right now. I can go on msn as the mystery woman. This shall be fun. I have added a video just beacause I can. I can't remember what's in it, but I think its Spain. You will definetly like it.

I can't believe that's all you wrote in your post Shark, some blogger you are, aren't we supposed to ramble on and on?? (I like how this thing has spell check- there's my vote earned right there)
So I have been instructed to mention the fact that Dave Eggers is my hero- so there it is, out in the open. As if anyones going to read this anyways. Anyone who does read this should check out McSweeneys for further proof of my point. Meanwhile, I am going to bed.

the start
