I still think smoking is gross. And i was reminded of that last night, while watching American history x, and the Inuit man staying with us, reaked of it. And I'm like " Hey..I just don't like this".
Rain is something i wish would come here, it looks like its going to rain today, but i bet god knows it won't and that will be that. I miss the lush green of the island and people who i love. But its alright, because i'm 400 and something km from the arctic circle. Oh and they killed a bear here yesterday, a four year old black bear, i didn't actually see it go down, but a fat bus driver told us.

I think im going to go to the library after work and find a dvd and book to take out. And i also want to learn to make dish clothes. Maybe you can teach me? Maybe you can show me?

One day defiantly. I am so bored right now. Work today, and where i am still at, is just a bleh, i'm stuck here for another hour and being shoeless (they are on the other end of the room) is just not helping the time going faster. So i'm listening to hypem, drawing pictures, copying vegan recipes and wonder if it really would be that hard to learn piano. I guess it wouldnt be, i just need a constant instrument to be there, so even in the late hours of the night, it's there, waiting for me to practice and create. I jealous that you have taken piano lessons.

Thank God It's Fatal

Heya. Yeah the Arctic sounds sweet. Doug is prolly distantly related to me. Then again YOU'RE prolly distantly related to me. HA. Did I tell you that at Uni last year I met a girl who was Zoola's third cousin or something. She had the same last name as Jean so I was like "heeeeeey"

Anyways it's been raining here for the past two weeks or something, which sounds refreshing as the rest of the country is scorching, but really it would make life a lot easier if it were sunny or something. Ideally between the degrees of 18 and 22 C.

I finished my first dish cloth today. And I have hereby decided to knit dish cloths for everyone for Christmas, Birthdays etc etc etc. I mean, who doesn't want for a dish cloth in this day and age?

Hey there baby girl.
Had my first day of work here today, i work at this place called Ecology North. My boss is this guy called Doug, and he has the same last name as you. And it turns out, being a vegan isnt so bad. I had soy milk in my cereal for breaky and soy cheese in my wrap at lunch. But it isnt the same as real cheese.

The local coffee shop here, which i guess i could compare to the brimm in theory, but imagine it a bit newer, and a bit filled to the edge with lovely boys? Especially ones with funny, but adds to their goodlookingness mustaches. Lovely huh? Went for a cool hike yesterday too. Man,its so nice, i only work at my placement for five weeks, the two other weeks im here im house manger (charlotte and olivier) and one of the weekends im camping, and one of the weekends its the 48, meaning i can do the hell i want. Soo, things are going to be very cool and fast here. Its definatly a neat place to be here in yellowknife.

The Moment You Stepped Through That Door, I Was Down With My Face On The Floor

You know dahling, it's probably better you came away from that place. Renaud sounds too much like Renard. And we all know what that means. Anyway I have this permanent knot in my back from leaning forward all day. And I feel like I spend too much time indoors. I've been looking at those hippy-kids' pictures and I feel like I should make friends with them so that they will take me on island adventures. Instead I've been reading a lot and listening to music. I hereby vow to spend all of the two days I have off outside. Amen

(How can you be a vegan? You like honey and cheese and weird meats to much)

Yellowknife.

The picture above is where we stayed in quebec city, and the guy in the picture is adrian.

So i'm in yellowknife now. I call it the forever sun, mind you, ive only been here for, well this is my third day, but still have i yet to see total darkness. I'm currently in the library, its rediuclously like the one back home, plus its a nice place with wireless internet. I'm missing montreal though, you know mortimer, before we left, its like 33 degrees outside and i had a 24 hour crush on this guy named renaud, because, my god, theres just something about him, he was our leader for a good14 hours maybe? Ah well, thats good and over.

You know, me and charlotte are becomming vegan? we have a good ten books infront of us right now about that.

All the Stars Are Burning Me

Are you trying to tell me that that building actually exists and is in Mon-ree-al? That's crazy! I just thought it was a neat picture!

So today I waited at a bus stop for about half an hour before I realized that the bus didn't even go down that road, and if it did it would have gone by almost as soon as I got there. I also patted a dog named Jazz who's owner spent an hour every four days grooming. When I was surprised by this, the woman was slightly offended and took her long-haired mop-dog away [sic] And this woman who was the mother of the girl who was best friend when I was about 7 came in to the gift shop today and was really brusque. She was looking for Jonathan Rout, who is in Europe at the moment but normally makes silver jewellery in the basement.

And oh wait, something else happened today. I saw our friend Teeson, whom I have not laid eyes on for 3 1/2 months and who I ambushed from behind as he strolled towards QF. Needless to say I got a hug. And he told me that he is an ace at making friends since travelling so much. And also that he has some Aussie friends coming to visit him in late June. (ARRRRgh) And about the tarantula hawk wasp (guess which one it is) that is venomous or something. But apparently there are no insects that kill.

And Dad Would Throw The Garbage Across The Floor

Well hello, hello. Just had my busiest day in like a month, which isn't saying anything because I seriously haven't done anything in a month. (note: sitting up straighter does not make sleeping feet feel better, but in fact worse) Got up at 7 and accomplished things. Had my first morning shower in about a year! Went to work! Worked for a few hours... learned so many new things that my head may/may not explode at any minute. For instance I made the mistake of thinking I knew how to use excel, and then the book-keeper started throwing numbers around and I was, frankly, afraid. Learned how to properly greet someone over the phone or in person, learned that in this case, the volunteer is never wrong, learned the correct acrobatic hand flicking required to lock and unlock doors. And near the end of the day, I sorted through about a thousand teacups and saucers. (I have decided that I will make an effort to own proper china when I get around to that kind of thing, all the old ladies were tsking about the lack of use of such beauties)And I ate a packed lunch! And I took orders from the Boss! And I have my own key! And from this description I bet you could never guess that I work at an art gallery- hm?
I also had a driving lesson, and was thoroughly and properly embarrassed to see kids younger than me whizzing by in Daddy's four door, but at least I was learning in a mustang. The teacher kept saying I was griping the wheel too hard, but I wasn't nervous at all.

Before, You Know Where You Are Going

Burnt my elbow on sauteed mushroom-stove. And no, that is not a lyric, although it should be. Man.

I miss people.

I got the shakes that I just can't shook

So Parksville life as resulted in nothing more than sleeping in to rediculous times and listening to music- all day. But today will be better, I swear. I am going to bike into Parksville, in an hour maybe, and go to the library I think. And the post office. Talk about exciting life, eh? No responsibilities whatsoever puts Mort in a very bad mood. I think I need someone to tell me to do stuff in order to live properly. Or at least goals.

The upside of this week is that my mother bought ginger ice cream to celebrate the fact that I got a job, which I am putting back with my right hand as I type this with my left. Skillssssss.

Bleh. Shoulda kept in touch with the home-town kids.

BUT. I am going out tonight with none other than Olivia Blondal, in the flesh. So it will at least be a good weekend

Listen to me. Whiner/Weiner
