El Conguero

My friend Sally just found out over facebook that one of her friends died. Can you imagine? Especiall with all of mine all over the place- it seems unreal. I would have a hard time believing it especially since: Shark is in Montreal touring circus schools

Zoola is in Victoria auditioning for this, that and the other thing

Tyson and Maddy are in Salvador, Brazil

Nicolle is in Itabuna, Brazil

Brett is at home but does not keep in touch

Janina is in Zurich, Switzerland, and is going to a ball tonight

etc etc etc

How would I find out if anything happened to these people?!

Anyways that is the crisis for the day. Plus I have to write a love story for french. Hm. And last night I went to my bro's house and made a nice root-beer float cake (thank-You Joy the Baker) And then we went to play pool and to this random open-mic cafe where we made jokes about Wyatt and Mike and Carter starting a band, and how I can be the Will Butler (useless percussionist, only there because related to the lead singer) and how Rose could eat calamari because squid want to be eaten anyways, and how poutine is the perfect combination of ingredients (it IS Laura!) And apparently Mike overheard some guy from Res talking about sharing dirty needles and he made is own little joke about how dorm kids are BADASS.

I am now listening to Poncho Sanchez and contemplating refilling my empty waterbottle. This afternoon I will go see Alice in Wonderland which I am feeling iffy about. Not sure I will like it, sure it will busy as hell in the theater. Sally is going to bring me dried mango from the bulk food place in Caddie Bay mmmm hmmmm

So heres the downlow tangerine pigtails (and world) today, we went to circus school for a little bit. And then we had lunch. And then, we saw this really random presentation on the environment and how this circus school is actually also, focusing on the environment. And how this random big area behind the circus school has like more then 21 stories (imagine building stories, "Oh the empire state building is so and so.. stories high.") deep of garbage underneath it. Meaning when ever it rains, the garbage works like a tea bag and infuses the water that passes through it, thus creating environmental problems for the natural and city life co-existing in this wonderful area. How are they fixing this you may ask? Well.. Yes you may. (bahahahhahahha) they are mixing oxygen with this bio waste water thus killing the harsh bacteria that might cause the world to eventually melt down. Apparently the bacteria were in a airtight world before they came into ours and when we give them this little present, it kills them. Making us the top of the food chain. Suckas. But isnt that a random thing to learn?
We then went home, played katimavik jeopardy, and then descided we were going to go explore something, so we just went downtown. And did not alot other then look and me being amazed by the big churchs, too bad i am not H core enough to hang out there on a sunday morning. :(

Sup. I am sitting in by sports bra on my bed, like any good semi-athlete. Just ran two miles (nice!) Anyways the reason I am half dressed is that I was about to get into the shower, and then I noticed that Shark had messaged while I was out (typical) so I sat down and somehow ended up on the blog (ta-da!)

Anyways I was watching the news during the Olympics about that big earthquake down in Chile and the news station was obviously based out of the mainland because the woman was like: "We on the mainland are not in danger of a tsunami bacause we are protected by an island here" and points at home-sweet-home. So Shark if I die in a freak wave accident know that I loved you and probably will continue to do so sub-consciously in the ether.

So today more than any day I have come to realize that I am extremely lucky to have such good friends. Pretty sure I can always rely on you people to back me up if all else fails. We just fit nicely together. Everyone else that I have met recently seems to have a friendless highschool experience in which all their friends either abandoned them or did not exist. I was talking to Zoola today: We are all 'kind ' people, all five of us. We balance out. I love it. I just wish I could see all of you more often.

I'm just confused about everything today. Its okay though, I put it down to a lack of sleep. I was in Vancouver all weekend and barely saw anything that they had supposedly put on, like Canada House or the giant zip line that they apparently strung across the buildings. All I really saw were hoards and hoards of young men in red that all wanted high-fives. And I had a caesar drink which I still haven't decided if I like or not. Abby and I played 'spot the Russian' which is harder than you would think because they are also red and white. I am probably in hundreds of stranger's photographs and I know I am in at least one video of a girl going through the subway high-fiving everyone. After the gold-metal hockey game this aftertoon I saw a man playing bagpipes on the overpass with a Canada flag hanging off the intrument. As I looked back to get another peek I saw a heard of kids running towards him- the one at the lead carrying a hockey stick like one would a spear. They all started to dance together. It was beautiful.

Tomorrow my brother is turning 21 (!!!!) which is kind of freaky considering it was not long ago that we were 12 and 14 respectively and wailed on each other constantly. So I am making him a mixed CD like any good sister and I will probably not be able to see him until friday, at which point I will bake him a cake.

The islands between Swartz Bay and Tswassen are incredible. When I get old I'm going to buy a house on one and never leave.

I went to Vancouver on wednesday. The Ferry terminal on my side was packed, like more then 200 hundred people. I went there alone, came back alone. I liked the busyness in the city. People everywhere, big signs. Man oh man Mortimer, when your there on Saturday check out the art gallery (out side of it) they did a beautiful thing and hung theses big things, flower prints.
I also had a huge plate of fried rice. I would recommend the place, but i have no clue what the name was. I still can't find the canada gloves. Go to robson square though, apparently theres a man with a penis nose playing the mandolin *take a picture for me.
Let's talk soon. I know for a fact that i won't be able to make it to victoria to say goodbye to you guys (painting chairs tommrow/last marimba practice/work) but know i love you! And soon enough things will be nice. I'll be mailing the book to you. (Eating Animals..) Hope your having a good day!

You can hear the shouts of euphoria from the near-by bar from my room. It kind of makes it hard to study if Canada's gonna score a goal every five minutes. Geez. Today I had a nap after one of my classes and ended up falling asleep for an hour. So I missed another class. I think I made up for it though by going to a Unicef meeting. So there.

Blegh. Are your fingers alright Shark??? You really scared me when I read that.

Oh yeah. A certain Mr. Pepper suggested that he might want to come hang out with Abby and I when we go to Vancouver this weekend. Funn-y. I kind of want him to come just so that I can see if he's changed any. Could be entertaining.

I crushed my finger in the blades of the bread cutter today. I also started packing. But i took a couple things out, just to wear. Also saw carmanagh at the grocery store. I'm eating Salad rolls tomorrow.

I seriously thought this was terry fox

Turns out there is lychee liquor. Turns out I now have photo i.d (yes!). Turns out i have to figure out a object that symbolizes me (help?) and bring it to montreal, for a group actiivity. I have a week to figure out what i am going to pack and then some. I need shoes.

Today was my last day housesitting. It was lonely at times, and nice at others. I liked the fact they had a hottub and laptop. I also liked the fact that my friend next came over and we made sushi and rented stupid movies and made pancakes. I also like the fact he said straight up he's horny in the mornings. Honest people like that make me happy. Not in the turned on way, but in the "thats cool" typa way.
