Isn't homemade vodka moonshine? What era is this again?

Tell me Shark, why is it that I feel weird accepting compliments? My Bastard-Spawn friend (her term, not mine) just wrote this whole bloggy entry about how I am 'understated' and 'brilliant' and all I could do was tear up. If she had said these things to my face I would have been hella-awkward, maybe would have cracked a sarcastic sex joke. But really, maybe I should return the favour? And slip it under her door? Or is that too Romantic?

Anyways glad you had a happy happy birthday. Maybe people read this blog because it is undersatedly brilliant? :) And Tais-Toi told me about hotboxing certain outbuildings at certain famous jazz musicians' houses. Har.

And yesterday I bled right through my pants and the tights I was wearing under them and somehow didn't notice until like 11 o'clock. Talk about awkward/embarrasing. Hopefully it was at a weird angle that no one else noticed either.

Right now, it's the morning of February the 8Th. 2010. Our numbers went up Mortimer, but prolly because the link to this blog is in the sidebar thingies of my facebook thingy, and went it's someones birthday, things happen.

Last night, after going to Victoria for that marimba, and then coming back around 6, i ate dinner. I was really good, lasagna and carrot cake with overly sweet cream cheese icing. Things like that are just super nice in life. I then got a message from dah mother that Tyson-tais-toi talked to my brother on facebook, and wanted me to talk to him, about hanging out that night.

So i did. And it turned out the Dwyer picked up a Australian hitchhiker from the ferry that day and was staying in their bunkhouse on the side. He was really nice, dreads and nice accent. It was a alright night i guess. Though i was not impressed when i walked in the bunkhouse and they were having a Marley-time party (if ya know what i mean) and literately, the look on my face and in my head was " not impressed" but things passed. The girl with the overally talking thing left and then things slowed down. Tyson gave me a thing of vodka. I had one shot of it in my cranberry juice and was thinking what impressive thing i could do with it. Pasta? You know that vodka pasta, vodka penne or something. But no, on the drive home from Tyson's this morning, with my father, the thought of homemade vodka popped into my head. So MORTIMER, come September this year- we will have a bottle of homemade vodka in the house

Sounds Extremely tight. Top Quality.
SHIT HOMEMADE VANILLA MORTIMER not vodka, jeeze. I stuck like 7 vanilla beans in the bottom, hoping for the best when the time comes.

I would have made you this cake...

So last night I was the official groupie for a marimba band, it's nice to feel like you belong to that kind of thing. They played this game on the way to the gig in the van: they put on one of their own songs and were like "hey is this kumbana marimba? I love these guys! I wish I could get to know them, they seem so cool" and then the drummer would go off about how great the drummer seems etc etc. I got to thinking between loud guffaws, what if really famous people do this on the way to packed stadiums? Does Bono speak about himself in an awed, wide-eyed voice?

My real reason for writing this is directed at you Shark, in regards to the birthday present I gave you last night. I didn't get a chance to write you a card, but everything in that box has significance. Those earrings? Rose made them. Even the beads. I guess you could say this is a high point about her. The hula girl boxers I got at a clothes swap, but they were in the girls section so I don't think they can be counted as used guys undies or anything. And the scarf/belt is my first accomplished knitted item! Hurray. Notice how the stiches get so much neater towards the end? Unfortunately I'm crap at casting off. I believe ther is also tea in that box. It is from Murchies so it should be tasty.

So Happy Birthday! And I love you. Tell Rob to shut the hell up for me. Actually he's pretty nice. Not as big an idiot as I used to think.

idk maybe ice caves?

Mortimer please, how in hell would i know? I could be ice caving for a week down a mountain in a rock, in a none existant road. They wrote the most laid back list and then had a random list of -50 boots and snow pants and shit. So i wrote quick emails to two ladies making sure i wasn't going to drop 100 dollars on new boots- luckily i do not. So more to save on to life!

Last night i was at tysons. We watched zombieland and this weird thai fighting movie, with english subtitles. I then went into town, just zooming around for a bit, went to the kitchen store, book store, pass the outdoor store, goodlooking outdoorman gave me a look in the eye, that was nice. Went to that bulk food place, bought bulk food. That was also nice. At the bookstore, i got a book on russia.

Also, my dad picked up hitchhikers and we drove them just almost to whiskey creek. Nuts huh?
Hope your doing tight things at the exactly right time. Because im not right now. Im talking to this man in french from "algerie" in french about his military life and the lack of "femmes" in that line of work.

nice

Why would you need -50 boots for the spring? when is it ever -50 degrees in march? Anyhoooooos I haven't got your letter yet but I was gonna send you one. Except maybe I will just give it to you on Saturday,

So guess what! I'm bringing my friend Laura home for reading break since she lives way the hell up north. You will like her, I promise.

So I saw Zoola yesterday and kind of realized that nothing she will ever do could make me stop loving her (not in that way, fool) Which was nice. And another realization. Hanging out with stoned people makes you silly. I don't get why more people don't just profit off other people's fumes more often. Which makes me sound like a total stoner.

And I came home today from class and my crazy friends were laying in my bed, wearing my clothes.
Creepy or what?

Ah Hey, Good news, i don't need -50 boots for either yellowknife or montreal for the first four months of the adventure. Other good news, i sent your letter out monday? I get to send more maybe today too.

Nice.

Nuts, you are hungover? What were you drinking, something impressive i hope.
Like pumpkin beer. Did you know you can brew beer in a pumpkin? I didnt. Man oh man, you in for learning something new tonight:

Tonight, we were talking at marimba, about our road trip next week ( we re playing in saanich) and my god, I'm excited. I'm getting a ride down with Carmanagh, and Forrest and Elizabeth will be there too, oh and Rob ( our drum man). And man, this is just going to be a cool trip. We are also sleeping over1 and it will be my birthday the next day and man oh man, things are nice.
(got mallots to play the marimba at home!)

Also, i don't know.
I nearly got killed by a dog when i was riding my bike home. I swear, i was riding my bike, all none-gallantly, and then bam! this huge German Shepard, ready to kill every bit of me. I shined the flashlight, in his eyes, no luck. Still death in his eyes. Man i was scared. I prayed to the gods (god?) up above, praying that they would keep me safe. And that they did, seconds later, two cars from both directions came, and i got a speedy getaway. The end. Also, imagine the scene infused with fog, and no light, just my own.

Anyways, that was like, what? one hour ago? Not even?
Oh well, i have a ideal for your letter, ill be mailing it out tommorow.
Hope the goodlife is treating you well.

That's Me

So today I had this converstion... remember when we said that the only thing that my last name rhymes with is "bitchy" ? Well I don't know why I never thought of "itchy" and "snitchy" which may or may not be a word...
Anyway I'm supposed to write this dumb essay about possible influences of Emily Carr when she went to France in 1910 and I know jack nothing about this Carr character because I'm pretty sure she has never been mentioned in class and I grew up not likig her work because my mom doesn't like it, although when I think about its not really that bad. Luckily for me I know that France in 1910 was cubist-time and expressionism fit in there somewhere too (this will save my life one day, I swear) I'm impressed with your tramping plans. I don't know if I'm going to make it through tonights run, I'm slightly hung over. shhhh I don't drink half as much as the most of the kids here. And anyway its not like I did anything that stupid. We went down to the James Joyces bistro/ billiards hall, which wasn't really that smoky/bawdy like I expected. On the bus downtown every single person was tipsy and I sat next to this scottish guy named Craig who was on his way to a scottish pub... I thought this was dumb. Anyway then some guy in the back started a sing along and everyone joined in. It's a feeling of conclusion that you rarely get anywhere else. Everyone just out to relieve stress and enjoy themselves. When we were waiting for the bus later we were looking in the windows at Chapters and some really drunk guy came up behind us and asked what we were looking at and offered us some popcorn that he had got from some girls farther down the road. It was only natural to accept.
In the last week I have met: a Serbian named Sandra, a Nigerian named Sam, a Scot named Craig, a South African named Baz, another South African named Francois, and a nameless english guy. I have therefore decided to live in the city for ever and ever and ever. Maybe not always the same city though.
