They Got A Name For The Winners Of The World, I Wanna Name When I Lose

So last night 20ish people from my building went on a beach adventure. We had a bonfire on this secluded bay off some really creepy, shadowy road. My spirits rose 60% just from running down this dark lane in the middle of the night, like old times. I still smell like campfire. It wasn't as fun as bonfires I have had with people I know and love, mostly because no one did anything incredibly stupid, and the few people who did go swimmings were kind of wimpy about it and screamed the whole time. No pop cans were hidden in the embers 'just to see what would happen' no one jumped off of really tall things just for kicks. we didn't make friends with any randoms wandering the beaches, I didn't even get that dirty. People sat around talking about there majors and people they had met at parties named Gordo, and after an hour most of us called it quits in favour of some paper or other due the next day.

I was nice though, I guess.

What Else Can I Write, I Don't Have The Right

Fancy that. I also have an insane headache. It feels like the walls of my head are pushing in from all sides.

Anyways today I went on a bike ride with our friend Zoola, and we went up and down the rocky hills of Cadboro Bay trying to find this bike path that I guess doesn't really exist beause we never quite got there. And I went to a tea party from 3 to seven with the english course union. We played all these random games, one of them being Balderdash, which is suprisingly fun. Actually the people in the union are all basically their own version of the mad hatter. I have not laughed that hard in soooo long, it was nice. And... I don't know if this is racist or not, or just race- aware, but I got my first hug from a black man today. I'm only realizing this now, Actually I don't think I've ever been hugged by a guy wearing skinny jeans either, or anyone from South Africa, considering I only know two. So there you go, A multi-cultured hipster hug.
And Shark I have met surprisingly few cartoonists here, whereas there seems to be unlimited actors. We should just do it ourselves

Did you improve on the design? Did you do something new?

NO Lupe Fiasco, no i did not. I did volunteer at mcgill all day nearly though. We helped with this uncharted waters workshop thingy, and i got to see a workshop on water bottles and how much hell they bring us- to say the least, it takes three liters of water to make a one liter of bottled water, and then 3-5 barels of water for every barel of oil. Isnt that crazy? I know right.

Right now i have this stupid headache, and it isn't helping that there is something like 22 people in the house right, because another group wanted to stay the night and we were like yeah yeah, why not. So, as i write this right now, the walls are telling me all their secrets and because they are so thin (the walls) they could potentially, in theory hear mine, but my mouth is shut right now.

I found this cool picture of a design option we could do for our walls? Yeh and Nay? Lets find some good looking comic book boy artists who can do it for me? and you? You can start looking for them mortimer- because i know you dont have much going on, just university. :P

Dog at the barbed wire barking at my buzz cut friends and me

Hi. I'm glad you wrote, even if all you seem to ever talk about now is the weather. Which is cool, don't get me wrong, but also incredibly boring considering I just went to my English Course Union meeting and we talked about student politics for an hour and my fingers are still brimming with things to say. I've been thinking: writing is probably the easiest thing in the world for me to do. I know I'm not particularly special/good at it or anything but it really is one of the only things I can sit down and do without thinking about too much. Like today we had to write and in-class composition for French and the prompt was 'I was sitting at my desk doing my homework when all of a sudden I heard something in the wardrobe...' And the story was in my head before I had even finished reading the sentence. Hmmmmm

Anyhoo. My parents called last night to talk about some girl who got murdered around here last week, and how her body was burned so that she couldn't be identified, and was I being careful?? Which was not a good time I guess to bring up the fact that I still wanted to travel to Brazil this summer, possibly alone, maybe with Brett. My Dad was pissed. But then again, he cannot accept the fact that the whole world ISN'T actually trying to kill him and his family, despite popular belief. I don't know when they will figure out that I am All Grown Up, and can actually Get Shit Done.

Today was clear-er, compared to tommorow.

The wireless, as i told you on facebook, is finally working, so potential skype with everyone is in the realms of possibilities now. What you just wrote was actually really funny to read, so good on you. Things today looked a little brighter, even though there was crazy rain in the morning, crazy hail that followed me to the metro and then random falls of snow that stared at me from the cafetarias windows during lunch, things were goodd
Its weird though, how it just snows randomly, and i know that sounds stupid, but its just really cool snow for a couple hours and then nothing, but its still super cold outside and then you hear people complaining about how they shouldnt of worn there spring jackets today, and tabernacking the weather man.
I don't know what else to say right now, i just thought since the laptop internet is working again, i should write something smart for you. Uh. I found you a present in china town today, which you will get eventually, and yeah. the katimavik group is getting a boy named arturo from toronto, hot huh? anyways, hope your enjoying your night.

You Said He Got His Teeth Fixed, I'm Gonna Break Them

Haha... Canadian Tire, I get it :)

It's weird, this whole day I've been looking forward to finishing my midterm so that I could have that great expanse of the Rest of the Afternoon to lounge around in. Except now I'm sitting on my bed eating dehydrated pears and staring bewildered out the window. I don't know what to do with all this time. I feel like talking to someone but I believe that everyone is either in class or studying or working or out doing something important. So I guess I will just write. (Write write write!)

The girl who lives next door just passed my door going "mom? mom? mom? Can you hear me now? mom?" if this were a horror movie I would have to call the priest right about now. And my door would have been flung open and there she would be, a slow smile curled through her teeth and her eyes suddenly yellow. At which point she would pronounce me her mother and sink her un-naturally long fingernails into my soft pale skin. But lo! Is that the hunky protagonist I hear? And just in the nick of time he would fling her back with one excellently toned arm and she would let out a yelp and vanish into thin air... for now.

Then of course the guy would expect sexual favours for his services, which I will happily provide because, oh my! I had been soooo afraid. But right in the middle of things I too will turn out to be the real enemy and he and his goofy pal will have to clean up that mess too.

Thank Jesus for Hollywood

sounds Weirdly Calming.

I feel quiet right now. The snow stopped falling and its all wet and slight white outstide. the bread just finished, but im talking to you right now, so ill wait to go shower. Thats true love ay.

Today was actually a alright day.
Rose: Snow and tire sur la neige (canadian tire...)
Thorn: lack of oatmeal. snow stopped.

Baby, I'm hot just like an oven, I need some lovin'

I was just remembering a conversation I had with someone... can't remember who now. We were wondering if it were possible to teach your children the wrong names for colours before they went to public school so that when for the rest of their lives they would go around saying 'look at that brown fire hydrant' etc etc. Although the question is, why would you want to? I was thinking about this because for some reason I always get into arguments with my friend Laura about what coulour things are, like today I was like: 'punch buggy orange! (PUNCH) and she was like: 'ow! That's not orange that's red!' At which point we argued the meaning of orange for a bit.

Lately I've been covering all the classics: I am reading Frankenstein, Slaughterhouse-Five, Crackpot, and Marathon Man simultaneously and last night I watch Persuasion which could possibly be the most romantic story I have ever read/heard/seen.

And yesterday I went into the ocean for the second time in the New Year. Cartier insisted that we go down to Cattle Point (glad he did) and we ended up walking back along the ocean- which was all crags and people's backyard beaches. And as we all know, for some reason walking along the beach takes about 3 times longer than going along the road, no matter how much more direct it is. We saw some ibises, some ducks and seagulls and geese, and a pair of mink and sea otters respectively. Not to mention the ancient christmas tree that was on the shore and the pounds of sea glass that I brought back.

Good Adventure.

Gas Up The Chopper For You Tonight

Hey Shark, don't feed racoons... how will they ever survive when you leave? And speaking of animal connections, this tuesday I fell in love with a rabbit. I named her Martha, she is so chubby and sweet and I see her most days in the bushes in front of my building. (Laura told me its a female because she has this weird double chin thingy. Good to know)Anyways the on Tuesday we stared into each other's eyes for like five minutes, literally. Weird as this sounds, this rabbit kind of confirmed my belief in reincarnation. She definetely has a soul.

I am glad you are settling down way over there. I got your second letter today and will probably send a reply on monday.

So Laura is house-sitting way out on the other side of the city and it has been weird without her next door to pop by every couple of hours. I swear next year will be weeeeird without having to share a bathroom with like 20 strangers and not being able to just take two steps and see her.

Anyways I have decided this wednesday that beer is the devil and should only be sipped gently.
Okay, now i have time for a real life post. Things are going great mortimer (big change from earlier this week-though the job is still bugging me, it just isnt bugging me as much, like seriously, im just their messager lady, in black pants and a blacker jacket, trying to figure out the metro and buses for me to deliver shit in differant places.) Got your letter today, it was sitting on the floor in front of the door to my room, and i just yelled and freaked out that a letter was there and yelled at gillian and scott about them not telling me. It was good.

Today at work was really cool, i got to talk this lady named louise, and shes like the only anglophone *the terms anglophones slash francophones are used constantly here.
*i learnt that Jazzé, is really cool way in french to say your just chatting- on juste jazz ici. everyday mortimer, iàm just getting better.
Anyways, yeah, i was talking to her, and she basically been everywhere in the world, from hong kong, vancouver island, turkey, europe, africa, australia, nz and on and on on and on. Shes intense Mortimer, shes definatly of my favorites. plus another bonus of this job is thats like literatly 30 seconds from chinatown. Anyways, i just work at this cool job jsut two times a week, the other three im at the lame hospital¡ but! i went to the park while i was eating lunch and fed the squirels (bet your jealous- cause they actually came to my hands) and this random girl came up and started talking to me, and telling me how you can feed racoons, and yes i said racoons after nine on mount royal- which isnt really a mountain, itès like little mountain, but oh well, ill take whatevr i get.

Anyways, love you, and hope your day is tight.
